The next time that someone would convince me that his or her definition of love is right compared to someone else's, I will surely grab his or her head and smash it to the wall…just kidding…





For decades and even centuries, people have been trying to define love; it's true and actual meaning. So many people have been arguing and debating. Oh to hell with it! What they don't get is that the meaning of love varies on each and every person. Love has no specific definition. Just like life for example, life is how we see it, how we experience it…






We all know that people have unique personalities. We perceive things differently. So that actually means that our perception of love differs too. Even on how we love someone and how we show our love to them, it all varies.






As for me, I sometimes question it's existence (wow, that's a new thing…me question something's existence…ha-ha…same old me alright…still inquisitive). I'm talking about romantic love here. What if love is just a developed type of lust? What if love is just lust overly decorated? Like love is just an adorned form of lust, that lust is its primitive origin.






But there are forms of love that is truly manifested and that are less doubted. Like maternal love for example. (I'm speaking of those responsible mothers. Not those who are apathetic of their child's existence or those who doesn't want their children).






Well anyway, even though I am doubtful of love, I have experienced it though. I have loved (and am proud to say). And with that experience I have perceived my definition of it.






For me, love defies everything. It is not blind but instead it sees everything, hears everything. It sees through your flaws, imperfections and idiosyncrasies. It knows that you have mistakes and errs but it doesn't mind, it understands and still accepts you anyway. It is forgiving and it makes you a better person, as it tries to gently correct you.






Love is shown in various ways. The way it's shown also differs on each person. Just because someone doesn't love you the way you wanted to be loved, doesn't mean he or she doesn't love you and it also doesn't mean that he or she loves you less. It just means that he or she is showing you his or her love the way he knows it and the way he perceives it. That's exactly why you shouldn't try to change the people you love. Because if you do, then you don't really love him or her…You're just loving a mirror image of yourself in another person.
